Ltd. (1996) provides strategic advice, research, negotiations experience,
communications packages, and a broad range of professional services. The partners
are Gordon F.D. Wilson, President and CEO, and Judi Tyabji (Mrs. Wilson),
Director.
Gordon Wilson was Minister of Finance and Minister of Employment, Investment, and
International Trade during his years of elected office in the provincial
legislature of BC (1991 to 2000). Wilson also held other key portfolios including Leader of the Official
Opposition and is recognized in Canada as a constitutional expert. He was
elected and served two terms as Chairman of Planning in local government during
his 20 year political career. Wilson is an accomplished public speaker and moderator
of public forums, conducting pre- and post-public process research and
analysis. He wrote A Civilized Revolution
(1996), including an analysis of public policy.
Prior to politics, he was a Professor of Resource Economics at Capilano
College, where he also served as President of the Faculty Association.
His business focus is property development,
financing, land use consulting, regulatory assistance, economic development,
strategic advice and corporate planning. As one of the founding partners of Tugboat
Enterprises, Wilson has primary responsibility for capitalizing the software
company and driving strategy on corporate growth since 2004.
Gordon holds a B.Sc. from the State University of
New York and a Masters (MA) from the University of British Columbia in Resource
Economics.
Tyabji served as an elected Member of the
Legislative Assembly for British Columbia and in local government in Powell
River, in addition to managing several federal, provincial, and municipal
campaigns. She worked in television as an on-air host and producer of the daily
live television show Tyabji, and host of the radio show The Judi Tyabji
Show. She does marketing strategy, print, radio, television and multimedia
production; legislative analysis, and public speaking. She is a published author of Political Affairs (1994) and Daggers Unsheathed (2002), with
experience in planning, land use development, conflict resolution,
negotiations, and economic development.
Prior to her time in politics, she owned and
operated small businesses and worked in the family business. Her family
background is in the wine industry.
Maradadi Pacific has a multimedia division that has
produced television programs including The Westerly and the
pilot program Serving
Thyme plus engaged in radio, newspaper, online and other publishing
including publishing and editing Sgaana Jaad,
a book of indigenous art from Haida artist April White.
Tyabji holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the
University of Victoria in Political Science (International Relations).
